Global Home
Iyorwuese Hagher’s play, Global Home, is set in a care-giving facility for the handicapped son of the billionaires, Sandy and Mabel Gladstone. It plays on the evils of globalization, where the very rich and the have-nots come together as Nigerian and Mexican nurses care for Walker Gladstone. There is a rape case against Walker, which becomes a central point of crisis. The play ends with questions of identity, race, poverty, and immigration in an open conclusion—a tired Hagheresque technique.
