The Professor and the Cathedral is a tragicomedy in which Prof. James, a retired professor, returns to his village only to become a victim of hostility, intrigue, disdain, and contempt. Money is the only prism through which community members perceive each other, and social relations are circumscribed. The play witnesses Professor Ndu’s attempts at healing and humanizing his community.
